Information we collect

If you join deal alerts, we collect the email address you submit. If you contact us, we may receive the information included in your message. Our hosting and security providers may process basic technical data such as IP address, browser type, requested pages, timestamps and diagnostic logs.

How information is used

We use information to operate and secure the site, manage subscriptions, respond to enquiries, correct listings and understand general site performance. We do not sell personal information.

Community referral submissions

Members must sign in before submitting a referral. We receive the account identifier, display name and email supplied by the sign-in service, together with the referral information submitted. To prevent spam and enforce submission limits, we store a one-way security hash derived from the network address rather than publishing or displaying the address itself. Account and network information is visible only to site administrators and is never shown with an approved community referral.

Deal alerts and newsletter

Deal-alert and newsletter emails are optional. We collect an email address only when it is submitted with the consent checkbox selected. You may unsubscribe using the link provided in an email or contact us to request removal. Until outbound alerts are enabled, a submitted address may be retained for future delivery and visible only to site administrators.

Affiliate links and external sites

When you follow a deal link, the destination retailer or affiliate network may use cookies or similar technologies to attribute a purchase. Their privacy policies govern information collected on their sites.

Analytics

CheapyOZ uses Google Analytics to understand aggregate website usage, including pages viewed, approximate location, device type, traffic source and referral-link interactions. Google may process cookie, device and usage information for this purpose. CheapyOZ does not use analytics to identify visitors by name. You can limit this collection through browser privacy controls or Google's Analytics opt-out tools.

Advertising

If advertising is enabled in the future, advertising providers such as Google may use cookies or device information to select, deliver and measure ads. Where required, CheapyOZ will provide consent choices before using non-essential advertising technologies.

Retention and requests

We retain information only as long as reasonably needed for the purposes described above, legal obligations and site security. Referral moderation records may be retained to prevent repeated spam, duplicate submissions and attempts to bypass a block. You can request access, correction or deletion through the Contact page, although limited anti-abuse records may be retained where reasonably necessary to protect the service.

We may update this policy when the site, its providers or legal obligations change. The latest version will remain available on this page.
